Feetwashing Thursday

This is no April Fool's joke.

Today is the day that some Christians remember the night when Jesus washed the disciples' feet. It's a solemn time to follow the example of Jesus.

The employer is not greater than his employee. Nor the president greater than the garbage collector.

It's humbling to wash your students' feet, or another brother in Christ's feet. It's humbling to think that the boss is not greater than his underlings.

But this is what Jesus taught as he got up, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around him, poured water into a basin, and began to wash his students' feet.

Several years ago I attended a "Church of The Brethern" for a few months in Virginia (Dunkers to my neighbors).
When the rite of paedalavium came up I have to admit I did not participate.
